The method of distributed computing (‘hive approach’) enables the data protection-compliant analysis of decentralized, physically separated datasets, while avoiding the centralization of sensitive personal data. For this purpose, a procedure was developed, piloted and successfully implemented within the framework of the PRICARE project.
